About Angelo Garcia

Angelo is a global citizen who grew up in seven countries, which gave him the opportunity to experience many different cultures and music across different eras. His sound is not restricted to any one genre but rather spans the sonic spectrum. A multi-instrumentalist, Angelo played guitar and bass in a number of rock and metal bands while also singing in choir and acapella groups. As such, you can hear musical influences from various styles of music from metal, rock, pop, folk, and electronic in his compositions.

Angelo’s first metal band was Shards of Ice, which released its album through Tiger Records in the Philippines. Angelo stayed with the band until he moved to Egypt in the summer of 2004. Throughout his time in high school, he played bass for the grunge band Emery Haze and later fronted the rock band, Shangledreem. In addition to this, he played as a session musician for different rock and metal bands.

Angelo took 8 years off from music after finishing university to focus on his professional career but returned to music after an athletic injury. Since returning to music, Angelo worked on both his solo project and his musical project, Ursus Armatus, with Martins Platais-Lapsa. 

Angelo’s discography includes Shards of Ice’s The Monkeys Have Landed (2005), Angelo’s solo releases Grandpa’s Guitar EP (2021) and Broken (2024), Rise of Ursus EP (2019) under Ursus Armatus, and the single “We will Prevail” (2017) under Enchanting Daggers.
